Where am I?

This is Big and Loud, a home for writing about action movies in all of their explodey goodness. Together, we’ll explore their strangeness, what they tell us about ourselves, and the people who make them. Also, I will ask serious, existential questions like “Is James Bond a Horse Boi?” and deep dives into the bargain bin of this genre.

We will find the good or meaningful of it all, even if that good is just “it was loud and I like loud things.” Expect a thing a week.

Who am I?

I’m Bobby McMahon. I’ve written about pop culture and parenting for a bunch of places, including The Washington Post, Parent.Co, Amendo and other fine publications. I used to be a full time reporter. Now I do other things. I also have a sandwich named in my honor.
